Internet Explorer |
| While on the web, you are storing temporary Internet files, which get stored on your hard drive. You also store what is called history files. Your hard drive is given an amount of space to save these files. If you start to exceed this space, your computer may give you a message like "resources not available" or "storage space exceeded" or something of that nature. In some cases your computer will freeze up (stop working). The following is the way to clear these problems up; | |
Clear or set more space for Temporary Internet Files |
| Right click on the Internet Explorer Icon (drop down menu appears) Select Properties by clicking with left mouse button. Selecting "Delete Files" will delete all Temporary Internet files that you probable don’t care about anyway. (This will free up the space on your hard drive). Selecting "Settings" allows you to allocate more hard drive space to put these files into but it will not delete existing files. |
Clear or set days to keep History Files |
| When you access a web page, it creates a history file that is also stored in this allocated disk space. When you click on the down arrow on your address bar, it recalls your history files and gives you a list of where you’ve been. There are 2 things you can do with history files, either delete them or change how many days to keep them on your computer. This option is also found under Internet Explorer Properties. When you are done making your changes, click on OK to close the window. | |
